There has to be a reason why there's no body.

vette cart.....

For $2500 that looks like a pretty sweet deal to me if it runs and drives somewhat well. Add some grippy rubber, and maybe a v8 if you’re feeling frisky, dominate autocross.

salvage title.

Huh - strange that I knew exactly what it was before looking.

Makes me wish there were more images of cars missing parts like this to see if you can tell.

Wonder how much rigidity is affected

It'd be like a more fun jeep

It probably shed enough weight to feel quite peppy without extra cylinders

Front looks decent so I'm thinking rear ended. Sell panels and hope to turn it into a full sized kart.

Considering most of what was removed are bolt-on components, which add little to nothing to chassis rigidity, the overall effect should be minimal. The part that was cut, the (presumably crumpled in an accident) section aft of the rear wheels would also contribute minimally in that regard as what’s between the wheels matters most in chassis twisting/bending.
/do it

You mean, it probably shed enough weight to add a small block and still be lighter than stock?

That would be a fun game. I think for this one it was the wheels and the door openings that gave it away.

Agreed. The back 3/4 are very distinct as well

There's that too

Hard to believe those things are 10 years old at this point - some came down styling-wise on the side of the Saturn, fewer on the side of the Pontiac, but I found both pleasing.

I was always on the fence when they were out. After they quit making them I started paying more attention when I saw them and started liking them. Don't know if it's the forbidden fruit complex or if the design grew on me.

Saturn Redline gun-to-my-head, but I’d do the Pontiac. And that’s one car that (and I almost never say this) I would modify a bit - stiffer suspension and engine mods or swap.

Exactly what I was thinking. NP

Yes it does!

Augh. I have been idly looking for exactly this to do a custom-bodied roadster. But getting it to RI would add far to much to the cost.

They were hoping to make it as good as a Miata. They failed as hard as Pontiac did.
